Description

Tony Factor's success shows that an idea, intellect, and drive can be more important than the ability to read and write. He was a poor, dyslexic South African who became known as the Discount King of South Africa in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s. He fought for the consumers of South Africa during the Apartheid Price Control laws and fought the largest retailer companies during the price war . This is an inspiring rags to riches story, of a man who succeeded in mostly everything he set his mind to. He gave back to South Africa through his Remedial Teachers Foundation by fundraising up to R2 Million rand per year for remedial schools. Tony Factor was a hero in the public eye . He was a maverick and disruptor of the retail, auto, travel and coffin industries. He even financed an action movie with James Bond. The second chapter of the book describes the memories that Warren Factor had of his father, Tony Factor, and how his father influenced his work ethic, motivation, perseverance, and it also taught him how to give back to society.
