Description
"Borden of Yale '09: The Life That Counts" is a profound and moving biography that chronicles the short yet remarkably impactful life of William Whiting Borden. Born into a family of immense wealth and social standing, Borden's life took a radical turn when he dedicated himself to Christian missions, a commitment he maintained throughout his education at Yale University and Princeton Seminary. This work detail's Borden's spiritual development, his leadership in student ministry, and his heart for the unreached populations of China. The narrative captures the essence of a man who lived by the mottos "No reserves, no retreats, no regrets," illustrating how he turned away from a life of ease to pursue a higher calling. Although his life was tragically cut short by spinal meningitis in Egypt while he was preparing for his mission to the Muslims in Gansu, his legacy remained as a catalyst for the global missionary movement. Howard Taylor provides an intimate look at Borden's character, his disciplined prayer life, and his unwavering faith. This book stands as an enduring classic of Christian literature, challenging readers to consider what it truly means to live a life of consequence and devotion.
